We are Writing NJ's Birth Plan
Recently, a group of childbirth professionals gathered together to discuss the
current environment for birth in New Jersey. We all agreed that the majority
of women in New Jersey are not receiving maternity care that is evidence-
based or supportive of normal birth.
We also agreed that the only way we can change the current environment is
to unite our wisdom, skills and talents, in a state-wide effort, to educate
families about evidence-based, mother-friendly maternity care, and to refer
them to professionals and facilities that provide such care.
This was the birth of New Jersey BirthNetwork, a local chapter of
BirthNetwork National, a 501c3 organization.
Join with us to take back our birth rights!
New Jersey BirthNetwork is empowering the women of NJ to take control of
their maternity care. NJ families need to know, there is a growing community
of people and caregivers who support a woman’s right to manage her own
birth. There are a wide range of care options for pregnant or birthing women
and their families.
New Jersey BirthNetwork is working to help make these options well known
and widely available. We will accomplish this mission as we:
